Vladlena Rudusāne-Simić

Vladlena is a member of the firm’s Competition law team. Her focus is on restrictive agreements, merger control and State aid. She has advised on competition law issues across  a number of industries, including pharma and FMCG. She also does international trade work and advises on EU law, business compliance and public procurement.

Prior to joining BDK, Vladlena worked for two years in the Tax and Legal department of Grant Thornton Rimess in Riga, Latvia.

She obtained Master in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva in 2015, LL.M. in International and EU Law from the Riga Graduate School of Law in Latvia in 2013, and LL.B. from the University of Latvia in 2011.

As a student, Vladlena participated in public international law moot court competitions, including Telders in 2010 and Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 2011. In 2012, she received the best oralist award at the Constitutional Law Moot Court in Riga. Two years later, she was the semi-finalist at the ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition in Prague while in 2015 she coached the ELSA WTO Moot Court team of the Graduate Institute in Geneva. 

Vladlena is a bilingual Latvian-Russian speaker. She is also fluent in English and has a working level of Serbian proficiency.
